Family members are mourning the loss of 20-year-old Kayne Deshotel.
Police responded to a call on Spencer Street around 5 a.m. Friday, where they found Kayne had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
“I woke up out my sleep to a phone call saying that my brother he got shot and is in the hospital,” said Jakara, “I go to the hospital, they tell me go sit down a doctor will come talk to me. I already knew. I broke down. I knew he was dead. I knew it.”
Jakara sat outside of the scene in tears as her friends and family tried to comfort her.
Kayne’s aunt Dianna Burel said his mother is at a loss for words
“My sister Darla, the mother, is losing her mind right now,” said Burel, “She never wanted to bury one of her kids first and I don’t know how we’re going to get her through this.”

“Why are they killing,” asked Jakara, “This needs to stop, it really do. It’s too many.”
