LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)—Children and adults all alike have been dressing up for Halloween, but today, even babies at the Lafayette General Medical Center Newborn Intensive Care Unit got into the Halloween spirit today.

All of the costumes this year were based off the song “Old McDonald had a farm”.

The costumes were custom made by one of the NICU Nurses.

NICU Clinical Nurse Manager, Jeanne Simon said this is something the unit does every year for the families.

“”What we were trying to accomplish is a sense of normalcy for these families. They come in on a holiday and they might have their other kids dressing up at home and they just want to come in and see that their children get to participate in the Halloween holiday.”

We’re told it took 10 to 12 hours to make almost 20 costumes for each baby.
