LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Consolidated Government says they have reached a verbal agreement with the owner of Dixie Cab to pay $56,650 in traffic camera fines.
The agreement, according to Chief Communications Officer Cydra Wingerter, removes the suspension of the company’s vehicle for hire permits and establishes a payment plan for the fines.
Wingerter said Dixie Cab will be able to reapply for new permits and move forward once they receive it.
The city-parish government will allow the company repay the base fees of $37,725 and late fees of $18,925 over the course of “a couple of years.”
A legal representative for LCG is currently drafting the agreement to be signed by officials and Dixie Cab owner Salah Yousef, according to Wingerter.
