ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY)— Once every four years, Americans heads to the polls fulfilling their civic duty and vote for the person they think would best lead the nation.

As the tradition continues, new voters are introduced to democracy and how the process works.

In Abbeville, civics students at Vermilion Catholic High School took on the “Mannequin Challenge” in an Election Day version in order to encourage people to vote.

The #MannequinChallenge requires groups of participants to assume a dramatic pose (could be anything) while hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd’s new song “Black Beatles” plays in the background.

Students in the class brought costumes, decorated the room with humor, all while learning how the electoral system works and how their vote and your vote matters.
