Suspect in Albertson’s storefront vehicle crash arrested

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Police have made an arrest in connection to the report of a vehicle that struck the storefront of Albertson’s Supermarket on Johnston Street Thursday night.

Matthew Flowers, 23, of Lafayette was found at the scene, arrested and charged with Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.

Spokesman Karl Ratcliff tells News 10 that the suspect reportedly struck the building intentionally and the damage to the store estimates in the $20k – $30k range.

No injuries were reported at the scene.
