16 spots to get your Thanksgiving meal to-go

(The Daily Advertiser)–  If you’re overwhelmed by the idea of preparing a full Thanksgiving spread, consider ordering ready-to-go turkey and trimmings from an area grocery store or restaurant.

Some of these spots offer full meals for just a few or the whole crew at a flat rate, while others offer everything a la carte, so you can get a ready-to-go fried turkey but still make your own sides and pies.

And although Copeland’s of New Orleans, a classic holiday meal spot, recently closed its Lafayette location, there are plenty of other options available.

Peruse the options, but don’t take too long to make a decision. You’ll want to get your order reserved early.

1. Bon Vie Kitchen

This local company offers single- and family-portioned meal delivery for those looking to eat healthy or meet certain dietary standards.

Bon Vie is also offering healthier holiday options a la carte.

On the menu, you’ll find hickory-smoked pork loin, cornbread dressing, rice dressing, green beans with bacon and onion, coconut smashed sweet potatoes, mac-n-cheese, and homestyle creamed potatoes.

All of the options are gluten-free. The pork loin, green beans, and sweet potatoes are also suitable for those on the Autoimmune Protocol, also known as the Autoimmune Paleo or AIP diet.

2. Bread & Circus Provisions

This funky restaurant offers meats, sides, desserts, soups and salads available in different portions a la carte, so you can mix and match to make the perfect meal.

Main event options include Crown whiskey-glazed turkey, spiral-cut ham on- or off-the-bone, herb and garlic roasted pork shoulder porchetta, gnocchi bolognese, and butternut squash lasagna.

This Oil Center grocery store offers a la carte main dishes and a variety of ready-to-go Thanksgiving meals.

The regular and large turkey dinners come with a turkey; choice of rice dressing, cornbread dressing or eggplant dressing; green bean casserole; sweet potatoes; cranberry sauce; gravy; dinner rolls; and choice of apple, pumpkin or sweet potato pie.

The pork roast dinner comes with Boston butt pork roast and the same options for sides and desserts.

The boneless baked ham dinner includes a boneless smoked ham with the same options.

4. Cracker Barrel Restaurant

This favorite road trip restaurant offers Thanksgiving dinner packages that can be customized and added on to.

The traditional turkey ‘n’ dressing meal includes roasted turkey breast, cornbread dressing, cranberry relish, choice of three sides, choice of bread, pumpkin pie, and pecan pie.

Side options include fried okra, coleslaw, green beans, dumplings, fried apples, hashbrown casserole, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, mashed potatoes with sawmill gravy, pinto beans, steak fries, sweet baby carrots, sweet potato casserole, turnip greens, and whole kernel corn.

This restaurant is known for its boiled crawfish and Sunday barbecue, but it also serves up Thanksgiving packages and a la carte dishes.

The turkey package at Dwight’s comes with a spicy or original deboned turkey, gravy, choice of three sides, and a pecan pie.

Whole and deboned turkeys are also available individually, fried or smoked with original or hot and spicy seasoning.

This grocery store in River Ranch offers Thanksgiving dinners and a la carte options.

The traditional holiday dinner comes with a fully cooked turkey, herb stuffing, Yukon gold potatoes, cranberry relish with walnuts, turkey gravy, and yeast rolls.

The deluxe holiday dinner comes with everything in the traditional dinner plus a carving ham, corn souffle, and smokey green beans in bacon sauce.

A la carte options include all of the above items and more.

Other than turkey and ham, The Fresh Market offers boneless turduckens, beef tenderloin, rib roast, leg of lamb, pork crown roast and Italian options such as lasagna, spaghetti and turkey meatballs, and manicotti.

Other Thanksgiving meal packages include the prime rib dinner, the health starts here harvest, and the vegan holiday dinner.
