St. Martin Parish deputies seeking suspect in connection to vehicle burglaries

BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY)— St. Martin Parish deputies are seeking a suspect wanted in connection with recent vehicle burglaries.

According to Major Ginny Higgins, the burglaries occurred at a local truck stop in the 1300 block of Evangeline Thruway, in Broussard Louisiana.

Deputies responded to the truck stop following a report by management regarding criminal damage to property to one vehicle, and vehicle burglary complaints on several other vehicles, authorities said.

According to a news release, at 4 a.m. on Nov. 22, a suspect was seen on camera burglarizing several vehicles in the lot.

Authorities described the suspect as a white male wearing a dark colored coat and hat. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a champagne-colored Chevy Silverado extended cab truck.

If anyone knows the identity of the person or recognizes the suspect vehicle, they are asked to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 394-3071.

Officials remind the public to lock your doors upon exiting your vehicle and store all valuables out of sight or locked in the trunk.
