The following is a news release from the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office:
Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson reports that three Acadia Parish residents were recently arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on Felony theft and narcotics charges. The incident occurred on Hawks Road in the Roberts Cove area of the parish.
“Our deputy’s investigation revealed that the suspects were allowed to enter private property (salvage yard) to retrieve a vehicle. Upon the deputy’s entering the salvage yard, it was discovered that the suspects were in the process of stealing motors, axles and other vehicle parts valued over $10,000” stated Sheriff KP Gibson.
The deputies then arrested the 3 suspects and during their investigation recovered a small container from one of the suspects which contained Methamphetamine. (Crystal Meth)
Those arrested were: Shannon Bellard, 39 of Church Point. Bellard was charged with felony theft. Douglas Savoy, 51 of Branch. Savoy was charged with felony theft and possession of Schedule II Narcotics (Methamphetamine).
Tessa Thibodeaux, 36 of Church Point. Thibodeaux was charged with felony theft, resisting an officer and outstanding warrants.
