Breaux Bridge native Darneisha Harris remembered by family, friends with balloon release

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) A Breaux Bridge family continues to grieve the death of their loved one 4 years after she was shot and killed by a Breaux Bridge police officer.

This was after some witnessess say she panicked and drove her car into a police cruiser and a pedestrian.

Sunday, the family of Darneisha Harris held a prayer service and balloon release at her grave site inside the St. Rosa Lima Cemetery.

Family members also wore tshirts with the number twenty one in honor of Darneisha’s 21st birthday.

Police were responding to a disturbance call on Landry Street when the crash happened.
