Jean A. Palombo, owner of Adrien’s Supermarket, dies at 61

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) Jean Allen Palombo, the owner of Adrien’s Supermarket, and who worked at the store for the past 16 years died last week Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Lafayette General Southwest.

Jean was an avid potter, whose work was honored by the special commission from the Smithsonian Institution Museum.

The Millicent Rogers in Taos, New Mexico and the Heard Museum of Native Cultures and Art in Phoenix, Arizona welcomed her work as museum art, the Palombo family said.

Her talents and creativity in making turquoise and silver jewelry became a treasure to many in the community, according to her family, who also said she enjoyed sewing, cooking and attending golf tournaments with her husband, Herb.

“Whenever she found a chance, away from the supermarket, she could be found captivated by a movie,” her family said.

A visitation and Mass was held Saturday at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

The Palombo family thanks the community for the outpouring of support, additionally Nathan and John and all the staff at Lafayette General Southwest (ICU) for the compassionate care given to Jean and her family.
