Today, veterans, government officials, and community members got the chance to check out the new Lafayette Veterans clinic at an open house earlier this afternoon.
The Veterans clinic opened its doors at 3131 Ambassador Caffery Parkway on November 14
But today was a chance for the public to check out the new facility and everything it has to offer.
Officials say operations have been successful so far and veterans are very satisfied.
Veteran Norris Gyin says this clinic offers more programs such hearing, vision, physical therapy and podiatry.
Gyin says many veterans used to have to travel for these types of care and he is thankful for those who built the new clinic.
Crews recently installed a new traffic light on Ambassador Caffery Parkway to allow veterans to make it to their appointments safely.
The clinic will be opened Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The phone number for the new clinic is (337) 706-3415.
