Scalise readmitted to ICU due to new concerns for infection

WASHINGTON Congressman Steve Scalise has been readmitted to the Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center due to new concerns for infection.

His condition is listed as serious.

We will provide another update tomorrow, July 6.

MedStar Washington Hospital provided the following update on their twitter page at 9 p.m. July 5, 2017.

The House majority whip was one of five people shot in Virginia last month after a gunman opened fire at a baseball field where congressional Republicans were practicing.

The gunman, a 66-year-old man from Illinois, later died during a shootout with police.
